Have you ever thought of making your own natural hairspray?
I hadn’t even considered it until I came across doTERRA’s DIY recipe.
It looks so easy to make using essential oils and a few simple ingredients, I’m definitely going to give this one a try!
Here’s what you need and how to do it:
1 cup of water
4 teaspoons of sugar
2 drops Geranium oil
2 drops Lavender oil
2 drops Peppermint oil
2 drops Rosemary oil
2 drops Clary Sage
Tip: Depending on your preferred hold, you can use more or less sugar.
Note: You can use one or all of the oils listed above or choose your own favourite essential oils. However, please be aware that citrus oils can lighten your hair if exposed to UV light.
- Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat and cool.
- Add drops of essential oil to an 8 ounce glass fine mist spray bottle and add the sugar water.
- Use as you would any other hairspray.
